Chapel Hill, N.C. — The Grimsley High School Whirlies captured the NCHSAA 7A State Championship, defeating the Clayton Comets 24–14 at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill. Grimsley finished an undefeated 15–0 season and became the first 7A state champions in the expanded classification era, earning back-to-back state titles after their 4A championship in 2024.

Faizon Brandon (MVP) — The five-star senior quarterback and Tennessee signee was named Most Valuable Player. Brandon completed 12 of 15 passes for 118 yards with a touchdown and added 53 rushing yards and a rushing score, leading the Whirlies’ balanced attack.
